myriad bragging rights
The thing about my line of work is that most writers like to show off, and I’m no exception. Most of what you see below is a sampling of my contributions to magazines published by Style Media Group (formerly Sierrastyle Publishing) and recent independent freelance work.
What do I do, exactly? I tell stories and help you do the same. I save you from cluttered, clunky and sometimes yawn-worthy content. Specifically:
•write: I author The Janna Monologues, write creative nonfiction and original journalistic pieces for magazines and blogs and craft copy for websites.
•edit: I am quality control for your content. I will brush up, tighten up and tweak your existing content every which way until it’s just right.
websites: you deliver notes, bullet points or even a brain-dump and I turn it into readable web copy
blogs: you deliver your shitty first draft and I turn it into an easily digestible blog post
ebooks: you deliver a rough manuscript and, after we talk through your ideas, I organize it, section it into chapters, title it, copy edit it, even manage the design and production•teach: I teach writing at Sacramento City College, at the UC Davis Extension and one-on-one.
