The thing about my line of work is that most writers like to show off, and I’m no exception. There is nothing like seeing something over which you’ve labored for weeks or months in its final published form. Hence, this section is devoted to my bragging rights, which are myriad. Most of what you see below is a sampling of my contributions to magazines published by Style Media Group (formerly Sierrastyle Publishing) and some of my recent independent freelance work.
What do I do, exactly? Just Janna to the rescue! I save you from cluttered, clunky and sometimes yawn-worthy content. I’m also the first to admit that identifying who needs writing/editing when and for what purpose isn’t the easiest thing in the world — it’s an abstract need. Allow me to break it down:
Writing: I blog, write creative nonfiction and original journalistic pieces for magazines and blogs.
Editing: If you have content and you care about its quality, I will brush it up, tighten it up and tweak it every which way until it’s just right. Specifically…
•Websites: you deliver notes, bullet points or even a brain-dump and I turn it into readable web copy
•Blogs: you deliver your shitty first draft and I turn it into an easily digestible blog post
•Ebooks: you’ve have a book idea but don’t have the time or discipline to sit down and actually write the darn thing. You sit down with me, talk through your ideas, give me any notes, bullet points, brain-dumps, shitty first drafts, and I organize it, section it into chapters, title it, even manage the design and production
